About Me

Celebrant Marion Green

I’ve spent most of my working life in the corporate world but have always felt drawn to the field of meaningful service. As a lesson I wanted my kids to learn when they were younger, I would bring them with me when I knocked on doors collecting for The March of Dimes. As my kids got older and needed me less, I was able to devote more time to giving my time.

I volunteered at a Battered Woman’s Shelter in Pasadena. Later I found my heart leaning towards helping children, always innocent and undeserving of difficult lives. I was a mentor/tutor over a period of five years to two girls who resided in Maryvale, a group home in Rosemead.

My next involvement was with the hospice movement. I did volunteer work in the capacity of providing relief for the primary caregivers. I was able to relieve them of their heavy burden for a few hours. Hospice is such a wonderful movement, providing respect and dignity for those terminally ill.

My hospice work was very rewarding and when I heard about the Celebrant movement, found it a comfortable progression. I attended a three-day workshop presented by Doug Manning and Glenda Stansbury of the In-Sight Institute and received my Celebrant Certification. Participating in the training were folks, both clergy and lay people, who wanted to learn how to perform and offer this option to the many that seek this type of service.

Now that I am retired from the corporate world I am available to assist those in need of celebrating and honoring their loved one in the most memorable and rewarding way.
